What we do

Merantix Capital invests in ambitious technology companies and entrepreneurs across Europe. Our roots lie in the Merantix Venture Studio, where we have built and supported AI-native companies since 2016, from initial idea validation through to scaling.

Today, we combine this company-building DNA with a dedicated AI-first investment strategy. Our ambition is not only to provide capital, but to work closely with management teams and entrepreneurs to create sustainable growth and unlock the potential of AI across products, processes and business models.

Merantix Capital is part of the Merantix Group, one of Europe’s leading AI platforms. The Merantix ecosystem includes the AI Campus Berlin, the London AI Hub, Merantix Momentum, AI House Davos and a broad network of founders, AI experts, industry partners and investors.

To support the continued development of our investment activities, we are looking for an intern to join us for a period of six months.

Your role

  • Analyse markets, industries, business models and companies as part of our deal sourcing activities and the development of new investment theses

  • Support commercial and financial due diligence, including market analyses, competitive research, company valuations and customer calls

  • Support the preparation and further development of financial models, company valuations, sensitivity analyses and investment cases

  • Prepare investment memos, decision materials and presentations for internal discussions and Investment Committee decisions

  • Provide operational support in the structuring, preparation and execution of M&A and private equity transactions

  • Assess AI value-creation opportunities and technology-related disruption risks at target companies

  • Contribute to building and refining our internal processes, frameworks and tools across the entire investment process, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management

Your profile

  • Excellent academic performance in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, engineering or a comparable field from a top university

  • Relevant prior internship experience in at least one of the following areas: M&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction services or strategy consulting

  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong understanding of markets, business models and economic relationships

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, ideally combined with initial experience in financial modelling and company valuation

  • AI-native working style, including hands-on experience with modern AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) to research, analyse and automate knowledge work

  • Strong interest in AI and in understanding how technology can transform established companies and industries

  • Structured, diligent and independent working style, combined with a high standard of quality

  • High degree of initiative, ownership, willingness to learn and entrepreneurial drive

  • Full professional proficiency in German (C2) and fluent English

What we offer

  • The opportunity to join at an early stage and actively shape the development of a new AI-native private equity strategy

  • Direct involvement in M&A and private equity processes, with significant responsibility from day one

  • Exposure to the entire investment process, from investment thesis development and due diligence to financing and transaction execution

  • Close collaboration with the management and investment team at Merantix Capital

  • The opportunity to help build investment processes, sourcing channels and analytical frameworks rather than joining an already established platform

  • An ambitious, entrepreneurial and collaborative working environment at the AI Campus Berlin
